Cillian Murphy is perhaps best known as the star of blockbusters such as Inception, In Time and the Batman franchise, but the Cork-born actor is a true thespian at heart.
Returning to his theatrical roots, last weekend Murphy made his US stage debut in Enda Walsh’s Misterman at St. Ann’s Warehouse in Brooklyn to rave reviews.
In the one-man play, the actor portrays a disturbed young man named Thomas Magill. The self-appointed moral leader of his small Irish town, Magill has sought refuge in an abandoned warehouse to relive the events of a cataclysmic day in his life.
Misterman runs through Dec. 21.
