After surviving the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, courageous supermodel Petra Nemcova set up Happy Hearts Fund, a charity which helps children in the wake of natural disasters through educational and sustainable programs.
“It started with one school in Thailand and we now have 57 schools globally. Happy Hearts Fund has a presence in 9 countries such as Indonesia, Peru, Haiti and Mexico and has helped over 34, 230 children,” Petra explains.
This year Petra will continue to devote herself to the Happy Hearts Fund and find time this June to get married to British fiancé Jamie Belman. The beauty was also happy to share her other big news of 2012 with rag & bone (‘I love rag & bone – one of my favorite dresses of all time is rag & bone!’). “Next week I’m launching a new luxury candle company named Be The Light New York.com. The brand has been inspired by the excitement of travel - to take people on a magical journey around the globe without the jet lag! And, of course, 10% of the purchase price will go to the HappyHeartsFund.org.”
