We are proud to introduce two made in America boots in our Men’s FW footwear collection.
Both boast Goodyear welt construction, a traditional shoe manufacturing method invented by Charles Goodyear Jr. in 1869, which is universally recognized for providing superior durability.
Using a Goodyear machine, the process entails stitching a welt of leather around the perimeter of the outsole, sandwiching the upper, insole (where the foot rests) and outsole (the piece of leather which forms the bottom of the boot), with a layer of soft cork between the insole and outsole.
The benefits of a Goodyear welt construction include a better fit, comfort and longevity. Water-resistance is offered while the heavier construction also provides extra protection against the cold.
With rag & bone’s signature emphasis on craftsmanship and quality, both boots, which have a 1 3/8” heel, come fully leather lined with all leather footbeds, waxed cotton laces, custom-made woven cotton pull tabs and our custom hand-sewn cross stitch.
Both boots are available in tan and black.
