JR’s NYCB Art Series creation

Following on from their inaugural 2013 Art Series with FAILE, the New York City Ballet has collaborated with the award-winning French artist JR – a former graffiti artist turned photographer after serendipitously finding a camera on the Paris Metro -  for the Company’s 2014 Art Series.

For his stunning 2014 NYCB Art Series creation, JR photographed more than 80 of the NYCB dancers to create a large scale installation that will be displayed in various areas of the theatre.

With tickets priced at just $29 and attendees receiving a commemorative piece of art created by JR, the two remaining Art Series performances on February 7th and February 13th   are unsurprisingly sold out, but we do hear that last-minute tickets may be released online on the day of performances!

The installation will be on display during NYCB Winter Season, now through March 3nd, along with a week of open hours at the David H Koch Theater for the public to view the exhibition from February 2nd through February 9th.
