Q&A with our denim model Renata Sozzi

We grabbed Brazilian beauty Renata Sozzi in between shots on our denim shot for a quick chat…

Where are you from?
San Paulo.

What was your first modeling job?

It was for a teenage magazine in Brazil and I had to smile but I was so shy and kept I laughing the whole time.

How long have you been in New York?

About one month but I lived here before for about a year. I went back to Brazil for a year and a half but now I’m back and I’m staying.

Which neighborhood do you live in?

Soho, but I think I’m going to move soon as it’s too crowded and that freaks me out. There are always people around so I’m thinking about moving somewhere quieter like the Financial District.

What do you love most about New York?

I love the diversity - most people I meet are not from the US but other parts of the world. It’s also much easier to travel around than where I’m from.

What do you miss from home?
My family and my dog.

What do you do in your down time?

I like to go cycling, spend time in the park with friends and go to movies. I like to hang out with people who aren’t in fashion and just do normal stuff and enjoy the city.

What are your travel essentials?
I just always have to have my iPod with me. I love listening to Brazilian music but I also like Radiohead, Kings of Leon and Bob Dylan.

What are your beauty secrets?

I’ve got combination skin so I need to take care of it. I drink loads of water and use lots of Clinque products. I also always brush my eyebrows because they’re quite thick.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

There’s a Max Brenner near my agency in Union Square and I love their burger with the waffle fries dusted with chili - they’re really spicy. I’m not strict about my diet but I drink too much Diet Coke which I have to cut back on.
