With summer nearing an end we are all looking to burn off some steam before the September grind. Lucky for us, we don’t even have to leave the city. The west-side pier is busting with fun things to do. Here are a few must-do activities.
1. Riverside Park: Terror Through The Decades… bring a picnic blanket and watch retro terror flicks on the big screen. This Wednesday is ‘The Return Of The Swamp Thing’ (1989) – sounds frightening? Well it’s also FREE. The Last showing is August 17th, ‘Mars Attacks’ (1996). Check it out at Pier 1 south entrance @ 8:30pm.
2. Trapeze School: With the greatest of ease you can have an aerial view of the West Village from on top of Pier 40. Since classes run Monday to Friday and weekends it could be your after work workout or a Saturday afternoon adrenaline rush. Click here to learn more.
3. Bike tour: Bike and Roll located at Pier 84 offers bike rentals and tours for the Parisian in all of us. Pretend to be a tourist in your own city for a day or reset your bearings with a fun alternative to city tour buses. Go to there website for details on the different routes and times.
or there’s always a walk!
