Francis Bacon: Catalogue Raisonné

Back To Blog

Francis Bacon’s illustrious works have gained him recognition amongst many in the art world as Britain’s greatest modern painter.

Now, Bacon’s lifetime oeuvre is immortalized in over 1,500 pages, including many previously unpublished pieces, and presented as Francis Bacon: Catalogue Raisonné. Painstakingly edited for over ten years by Martin Harrison and published by the Estate of Francis Bacon, the catalogue consists of three volumes covering all 584 paintings which remain in existence (the artist had a tendency to destroy many of his pieces), as well as introductory and conclusory volumes containing a chronology, register of sketches, index and bibliography.

A true collector’s item, Francis Bacon: Catalogue Raisonné retails for £1,000/$1,500/€1,400.
