Mark Borthwick

With Mark Borthwick at the helm of photography and art direction, rag & bone produced a series of photographs that illuminates Borthwick’s perspective on rag & bone’s identity. Shot in New York, these images feature the Spring 2010 collection styled by Vanessa Reid, and feature text reflecting the season’s design inspiration. More than a traditional photography book, the rag & bone/Borthwick look book offers the reader an intimate look at the artistic process, and encourages their interaction, with blank, lined and perforated pages distributed sporadically throughout, inviting the reader to add their own thoughts or sketches, or to take something from this creative journal and insert a piece into their own.

Personalities photographed for the project include supermodels Jessica Stam and Edita Vilkeviciute, Vogue’s Sally Singer, renowned hair stylist Julien d’Ys, and numerous inspiring models, friends and family of both rag & bone’s designers and Mark Borthwick. The eclectic mix of participants furthers the depth of this very real look into the heart of rag & bone through the eyes of Borthwick and Reid.
