About the Collection

For SS15, rag & bone explored purity of design and individualism, with black and white imagery of artists Jackson Pollack and Richard Avedon, both united in unstudied signature styles, as a reference point. "We wanted to create clothing with character. Ultimately, it is about each piece standing alone. We decided to cast our friends for a portrait series to showcase the looks to further illustrate the idea of individualism," - Marcus Wainwright. Authenticity is at the collection's core with the interpretation of workwear-influenced constuctions and silhouettes, yielded with focused modernity.
Staged proportions, long night shirts over cropped bombers or tailored jackets paired with peg-legged and drop crotch pants, exemplify the collection's luxe yet languid tone. Experimental fabrications are at the fore, with a sail cloth waterproof jacquard, reverse military sateens, sheen-effect paper cotton and waterproof linen. The traditional is conveyed in unexpected forms as the key print. The collection's predominately calming neutral palette ranges from chalk white, true ivory, pale stone, chambray to vetivert. Graphic black and white and a dark navy add contrasting depth.
