Claiborne Swanson Frank, a former assistant to Vogue’s Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour turned in-demand photographer – she even acts as a contributor at Vogue, is looking forward to the new year.

Her first coffee table book, American Beauty (published by Assouline), which features 100 portraits of American women in the world of art, fashion, music, film and interior design, is due out in Spring 2012. In the meantime, she’s excited about the holidays…

Clairborne’s self-portrait. “This was taken on the banks of a lake in Napa Valley – I’m in my favourite rag & bone army jacket.”

Thanksgiving will be spent… in Napa Valley. (Claiborne’s family owns Swanson Vineyards, below).

At Thanksgiving, I love… spending time with my family and sitting around the fire in our house. I love the spirit of gratitude, seeing the vineyard’s leaves in shades of red and orange and the sweet potatoes my mom makes.

This Christmas… my husband (James) and I will join my family in a little beach town called Naples in Florida. I was born there and we have kept a small beach house there.

At Christmas, I love… palm trees, white jeans (right, rag & bone’s skinny bright white) and Christmas carols.

The best gift I’ve ever received… are my grandmother’s gold charm bracelets.

My favourite Christmas movie is… Love Actually (below).
